The ultimate restoration guide for 1929-36 Harley-Davidson D & R series 45" twins, which contains more than 1750 b&w photos, with an entire chapter on paint and transfers in color. The book includes production information, model identifications, original specifications, factory service bulletins, descriptions, dimensions and photographs of hundreds of parts, as well as disassembly, repair, assembly, testing and adjusting procedures. It also includes exploded view diagrams, that were never before produced for assemblies, which include the 1929-34 three-speed transmission, 1933-37 "slant-top" reversing transmission, model 30D generator, Klaxon 11 horn, band brake assemblies, 1930-36 circuit breaker, Mesinger No. 3 saddle, ball and cone rear hub and tapered bearing rear hub, etc. The appendix includes numerous original factory studio photographs.

Although the book aims at owners/restorers of D and R models, many informations it provides are so profound that they are very valuable for other models of the period, too. Printed on high quality gloss paper with strong wire binding, so it lies flat on your workbench.
