Completely assembled, ready-to-run Knuckle cylinder heads by S&S. This means valves, guides, springs, valve spring enclosures, rockerarms and shafts - all parts are pre-installed. Just bolt the respective head onto the corresponding cylinder and you´re done. Since assembling a Knuckle style cylinder head is a complicated task, which requires a lot of experience, these alternatives cut working time for complete engine assembly easily by half. The valve spring enclosures are made of cast aluminum instead of sheet metal as on original heads which improves oil-tightness significantly in this area. Valve seats are hardened for unleaded fuels. Spark plug threads are 14 mm (long). The head bolt pattern is stock, however, the head bolt threads are changed to UNF 7/16”-20 so you can use more common Panhead/Shovelhead head bolts. As a performance measure the heads feature larger 1.940” Ø intake valves (exhaust valves are stock 1.750” Ø) . Thus they perfectly handle larger displacement engines but also work well as a high performance upgrade for 61 cui. and 74 cui. motors. The installed valve springs work with cams up to .480” lift.
