Wrecking Crew T-Shirt Grim Reaper

Wrecking Crew T-Shirt Artist Edition #3:

Jeral Tidwell: "Grim Reaper"

His artworks adorn skateboard decks, concert posters and canvases. He designs food labels, HotRod paintwork and children's books, among other things: Jeral "Artboy" Tidwell, California born in 1969, preferred drawing to talking when a child and obviously absorbed all the influences that came his way from the day he was born, from Art Nouveau artists like Alphonse Mucha to graphic legends like Ed "Rat Fink" Roth - we’re stoked that Jeral agreed to design the third "Artist T-Shirt" exclusively for the Wrecking Crew: "Grim Reaper", the personified scythe wielding Death on a chopper from hell. Where did that idea come from? According to Jeral: "... what you see here comes from my soul ... and a few other places I probably shouldn't mention ... ". We assume the rib cage tank on the front of the T-shirt also emerged from one of these dark places.

The "Wrecking Crew Artist Edition" T-shirt series

is a campaign featuring artists from all over the world and their very personal interpretations of the "WRECKING CREW" brand and the mindset that goes with it.

Of course, it's not a coincidence that this is all about Harley-Davidsons - and all other classic motorcycle brands.

Ultimately, Wrecking Crew stands for the simple fun of riding motorcycles on the roads of this world, off-road, on flat tracks ... and the joy of fixing, building and designing bikes. Not forgetting the events and the friendships that grow from them. In short: it's all about what is now called custom culture.

The motifs on these T-shirts are designed exclusively for the Wrecking Crew label. The artists come from all areas of fine art and "motorcycle culture": Illustration, tattoo art, pin-striping, painting, photography, AI, design, writing ...

Only high-quality, classic T-shirts of the best cotton quality are used, which are elaborately printed using screen printing technology, with up to 6 colours on the front and back, each as a limited edition of only 100 (one hundred).

Three editions are already available in the W&W store:

Edition 1: "Never Stop Kicking"

by Matt Wilkins, aka "Matt Sabbath", a Londoner living in Barcelona with an Instagram channel and 18,000 followers

Edition 2, "Sparking Hot"

by Charlie Lecach, Nice, France, long-time specialist author for motorcycle magazines and collector of historic Harley-Davidson objects

Edition 3, ‘Grim Reaper’

by Jeral ‘Artboy’ Tidwell, Californian from Kentucky (or vice versa). As the middle name suggests: likes to play with art.

The next motifs are already in the pipeline being sketched, sprayed, pinstriped, crocheted, welded, what have you ...

  • cotton 200 g/m², black, print: off-white (discharged print)

Discharge Print

Discharge print:

Fabric printing process in which the dye in the fabric is first removed locally by printing a removing agent on it, and then only the bleached parts are re-dyed with the desired motif, with the ink deeply penetrating the fabric. This results in a more natural look, with a ‘vintage’ feel, while the fabric itself remains supple.

Classic screen printing (Transfer):

A kind of ‘film layer’ is printed onto the fabric. The result is usually brighter, the colours are stronger - but the T-shirt can also feel slightly stiff depending on the motif and size. Also the paint layer may develop hairline cracks and tend to ‘break’ after a few years …

For the Wrecking Crew Artist Edition shirts, the printing processes used are closely coordinated with the artists.

Our printers regularly deliver superbly printed and long-lasting T-shirts.
