Valve-controlled gas exchange

The four-stroke engine draws in the fresh gases via valves and discharges the burnt gases via valves. Air-cooled Harley-Davidson V-engines from F-Head to Milwaukee Eight have the valves either one above the other or side by side in the cylinder or they hang in the cylinder head. Valves have a hard life: they have to withstand pressure and heat and they have to open and close reliably and quickly with minimal lubrication. So it's great that we can offer a wide range of valves from Kibblewhite Precision Machining, complemented by a selection of Manley valves.

Can the purchased valves simply be installed?

Yes and no. The valves themselves come ready to install, and if you have not made a mistake when ordering, the material and coating will also fit. But you must be prepared to have to hone the valve guide and the valve seats must be checked. Otherwise the best valve cannot do its job.
