On kickstart-only bikes the starter mechanism should be inspected on a regular basis. The gears involved are prone to wear and if neglected will leave you stranded at the roadside sooner or later. Especially the starter gear bushing should be in good order because it will ruin your mainshaft quickly when it runs beyond tolerances and the gear starts to tumble. Since this bushing is critical and most products on the market do not meet the requirements by material and specs, the Wrecking Crew decided to have this part made in Germany. CNC machined from industrial red bronze to closest specs, with the correct oil groove and chamfer. This is the correct part - period. Press-in, ream to size, install and you are all set, with peace of mind.

A common problem on 45”/750 cc transmissions are stripped or damaged threads of the filler spout. The repair bushing allows for a professional repair without welding. The OD thread is a common M18x1.5 plug thread, the ID thread is M14x1.5. After installation you have the coice of cutting down the thread of your existent plug or purchasing the readymade M14x1.5 plug. Compared to welding this is a piece of cake.

The cast-on mounting tabs for the inner primary on V-Series transmisisons are often broken and/or missing. These raw castings can be cut and ground to shape and welded to the housing to re-establish a secure primary mount.
