Steering head bearings on Harley-Davidson models without Timken bearings consist of bearing races and cones used to adjust bearing play. According to old parts catalogs, the balls have a diameter of 5/16” for the 30 cu in C models from 1930–1934 and for the 45 cu in models of the D, R, and W series up to 1938.
