This exact reproduction of the original Harley-Davidson “Mousetrap” matches the clutch release mechanism that was first introduced with the factory-installed foot shift on Big Twin models.
The system was developed in the early 1950s when Harley-Davidson responded to increasing competition from British motorcycles, which were strongly influencing the U.S. market at the time. The “Mousetrap” makes clutch operation easier and provides smooth, controlled release — especially beneficial for mechanical clutch systems on classic Harley models.
