Crimping of miniature series connectors
Wires for electronic management devices are much thinner than e.g. those that go to a 60 W headlamp. Waterproof connector housings have — by now — reached the end of microsizing in the form of the JAE MX-19 series, anyway with 2.5 mm pitch (.1 in) they are small and unimposing. And, similarly tiny housings are alike, that's just what the doctor ordered.
Comparedly tiny are the pins and female connectors. A standard size crimping tool won't help much in this case. The jaws are not precise enough for micro crimps and the built-in ratchet is way too strong. So, the result would be rubbish. Highest possible precision for hand tool crimps will be achieved with Japan made ENGINEER brand tools. The PA-20 size is just right for the JAE MX-19 connectors that Harley-Davidson uses on CAN bus equipped models and will serve for a lot of similarly micro-sized connectors like JST, Dupont or Molex — whatever you may find on microcontrolled computers equipped bikes.
