Electronic Ignition Systems OEM Replacement

Quality reproduction of the OEM part that sells at a much higher price. For use on models 1995→ the connectors have to be replaced by Deutsch connectors (WW 14-192). The unit is no 1:1 replacement for 32448-95A units with incorporated tilt switch. I.e. it can be used but you will not have identical functionality.

Stock replacement stand-off posts for breaker point base plates and sensor plates. For stripped case threads they are available with 10-32 oversize studs.

Harley-Davidson motorcycles have not used breaker points since the late 1970s. Electronics are more accurate and, ideally, do not wear out at all, or at least not as quickly. Crankshaft position sensors are a central control element in electronic ignition systems and engine management. These sensors essentially take over the role of the breaker cam. They transmit the top dead center (TDC) of the first cylinder and the crankshaft speed to the black box. They are therefore also referred to as TDC sensors or rev sensors.
Twin Cam 1999→ and Sportster 2004→ have crankshaft sensors that allow the ECUs to read the engine speed and TDC position. These varaiable reluctance sensors with two connecting cables respond to the gaps that are milled on the circumference of a crankshaft flywheel.

While Evo ignition systems have only two ignition curves and switch between them with a vacuum switch, Harley uses maps and pressure sensors from the Twin Cam models onwards, which give a variable signal according to the pressure in the intake manifold.
