From the Evolution series onward, Harley-Davidson cylinders and heads are secured using studs and nuts. The studs are threaded into the engine case. However, the nuts are not “standard” nuts, but long sleeves with internal threads and a flange with a 12-point head at the top.
These parts do not fit engines from 1984 or the first 1985 model series!
