Almost as maintenance-free as a shaft drive, as performance-friendly as a chain, with the belt drive to the rear wheel, Harley-Davidson has dared to take the quantum leap in terms of rear wheel drive, although in the mid-1980s there were already many high-quality sealing ring chains on the market. Nevertheless, for the Softails, FXR and Tourers of the 80s, the smooth-running and low-maintenance secondary drive was certainly one of the best things the factory could adapt.
