Where the engine can move, the exhaust must be able to follow those movements. Otherwise, stress cracks will occur in the pipe. This mounting block is the first version of a flexible exhaust bracket for Harley-Davidson FXR models up to 1986. The flat rubber side faces away from the exhaust bracket, and the long bolt is inserted from the rear towards the outside.
