Some of the W&W guys must have had nitro in their veins because they instinctively felt that customizing street legal Harleys wasn´t everything on this planet. Especially Paul Jung and Wolfgang Schmidt participated in the European drag racing scene since the early nineties but we won´t forget to mention the famous pit crew Steffko Rücker and Tommy Hambach.

In 1993 W&W formed an alliance with pilot Adam "No Fear" Hewitt and his Top Fuel pros from England. The combined forces of W&W and the HEWITT RACING crew started to conquer the European championship. The "Southern Rock II", technical director Frank Brachtvogel and highly determined pilot Adam Hewitt raced from victory to victory and in 1993 and 1994 the efforts were rewarded with the European Championship. For three years in a row Southern Rock II was the quickest and fastest Harley-Davidson outside of the USA.

Part 4 - Surprise Attack
During the years 1995-97 the team, in cooperation with HEWITT RACING, developed and built the ultimate drag bike. Headed by Frank Brachtvogel (Hewitt Racing) and Pete Davis (Puma Engineering) this breathtaking crotch rocket was supposed to surprise the drag racing world.

Unfortunately some systems just didn´t work as well in the real world as they did on the drawing board and after a few failures the project was canceled. What a pity, but after all, drag racing is a sport where you sometimes must cope with disappointments.
