Leaning forward is better than ... exactly! ... leaning back. This is not only true about dental hygiene, but also about racing or about riding fast on the road. From a physiological point of view, it's quite simple: if the rider leans towards the front wheel, the feet automatically move more towards the rear wheel. For front-wheel-oriented riding, people therefore naturally like to choose footrests and controls that are moved towards the rear. Other advantages are the smaller the frontal area and reduced wind resistance, as well as good foot support when accelerating. Last but not least, leaning forward also helps against wheelies. Rearward Controls systems from LSL and Roland Sands Design add that racing atmosphere to the Sporstster.
