They stay on your head and keep the wind out of your eyes by fitting tightly on the temples and nosebridge and - most importantly, they look cool. KD's are lightweight, have long slim arms for better peripheral vision, and fit comfortably under a helmet. The strong polycarbonate frame makes them very durable, which is underline by wire-reinforced temples and metal hinges. All lenses are made from polycarbonate and meet ANSI Z80.3 general purpose UVA/UVB and impact resistance requirements.
Polarizing Lenses
Sunlight itself is not polarized - it will either be absorbed or reflected horizontally, diagonally or vertically. The problem this causes for riders lies in the horizontal reflectivity. Sunlight bouncing off a horizontal surface will strike the viewer's eyes at a similar angle. This means the glare from the surface of the water or the road or gas tank will be strong. Polarizing lenses only allow vertically-reflected light to enter the wearer's eyes which eliminates glare from shiny surfaces. The rider´s eyes are no longer affected by a constant reflection of light and the need for frequent adjustments which results in a less tiring effect. Viewing in general gets more comfortable.
