HBS Customs, based in Wachtberg, Germany, was founded in 1982 by Rainer Auf der Mauer. The brand specializes in high-quality custom bikes, motorcycle conversions, and accessories and has been a fixture in the German Harley and custom bike scene for over 40 years. Starting as a small hobby on the family farm, HBS quickly grew into an independent company known for its craftsmanship and attention to detail. The Keihin constant-velocity carburetor (“CV”), used by Harley-Davidson from the late 1980s to the mid-2000s on Evo and Twin Cam engines, is simply inserted into an O-ring seal on the intake manifold. At the rear, it is supported by the air filter housing. This setup makes it a rather poor candidate for custom intake conversions — unless, of course, you use the clever and precisely fitted combination of carburetor support and breather system from Harley-Bikershop in Wachtberg. It simultaneously secures the CV carburetor to the intake manifold and routes the crankcase breather back into the intake tract. Works with most custom air cleaners, carb covers and velocity stacks.
