The company Morad produces motorcycle rims in Spain since 1988. As part of their expansion they acquired all the tooling for the rim profiles previously made by Akront. A forward thinking company who have invested heavily in some of the most modern rim manufacturing equipment available, therefore offering both reliability of supply and consistency of quality.

When H-D became majority stockholder of Aermacchi in 1960 it not only added European lightweight motorcycles to the fleet but also opened easy access to Italian high performance components like Borrani flanged aluminum rims, Dell’Orto carburetors, Oldani brakes etc. Consequently it didn’t take long before these were seen on KR series race bikes and in 1964 the first stock Sportsters with flanged alloy rims rolled off the assembly line. After all, race-proven performance parts couldn’t hurt on sporting street bikes. The rims offered here are reproductions of the factory rims from this era. Made by the renowned Spanish manufacturer Morad.

Morad Aluminium Rims
The world-wide reknowned Akront factory has been renamed to Morad under new ownership. For us bikers this is the only thing which has changed because the rims are the same top class products they used to be. Morad aluminium rims are machined from 6051-T6 aluminium with a highly-polished finish. Thus they are among the lightest rims available.
