Martexin Original Wax

The Martin family has been involved in the dyeing and finishing of textiles in the United States since 1838. The method, application, and formulation of the waxing process are tightly guarded family secrets, which have been passed down through father to son for seven generations. In 1930, the Martexin formula was registered at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect its identity from less effective imitators. However, in 1950, the family decided to eliminate hazardous solvents commonly used in the application of wax finishes, and a unique, environmentally friendly patentable applicator was developed. As patents are available for review, the family decided not to seek a patent to further cloak the unique process in secrecy.
