Softail shock absorbers

One of the most striking features of the Softail, which caused a storm of enthusiasm when it was introduced in 1984, was the swingarm, which visually imitated a rigid frame rear end. And the shock absorbers were hidden under the gearbox, contrary to all the assumptions of the trade press and worked on pull action. A brilliant move by chief designer Willie G. Davidson. (We'll leave aside the fact that the Softail, following the spirit of the times since the introduction of the frame for the M8 engines, now hides the monoshock under the seat again. That doesn't detract from the idea back then.)

Shocks for Softail are available as stock replacement kits from Progressive Suspension or for custom applications with level control.
