Sad, but true - of all the once world-famous Solingen knife industry less than a handful of manufacturers survived who actually produce there. The knives of the family business Friedrich Hartkopf are still genuine Solingen-made handicraft. Founded in 1890 and since then specialised in making the finest pocket knives money can buy, the people at Hartkopf still make their knives just like in the old days, i.e. mainly with their hands and a few tools.
This is no industry mass-product, this is an individual item an experienced master craftsman has put all his knowledege and skill into. The stainless steel blades are forged from the finest 4110 steel and lockable, liners are made from brass, bolsters from nickel silver. This harmonic material combination is tastefully accented by precious wood handles with engraving plate inlay.
