The thermometer is starting to rev up, and winter takes the off ramp: can you hear the road out there calling for your two wheeled company? So get ready to give the tarmac a taste of rubber!

But not without getting your scooter in shape for a long summer. That’s why we rounded up some useful stuff here that may come in handy to clear out that winter sludge from your bike’s innards and generally give it the rejuvenating treatment in one or two places.

Bel-Ray Brake Fluid

Bel-Ray Brake Fluid

Specifically developed for the use in motorcycle brake systems and absolutely harmless for paint and plastic parts. The silicon based DOT 5 brake fluid is the choice for all OEM Harley brake systems from September 1976 to 2004, 2005 or 2006 respectively. Touring models 2005-up, V-Rods, Dynas and Softails 2006-up, and Sportster 2007-up require DOT 4 fluid.

Extensive testing with fork oils of various manufacturers has shown differences of up to 50% in inner friction of telescopic forks. Bel-Ray High Performance fork oil is guaranteed to provide exceptional anti-friction properties. Available in three different viscosities.
30W was factory filling for all models up to 1978. FL models used it until 1984. 20W was standard filling later on. Bel-Ray fork oils can be blended for various viscosities.

A good funnel is a must have in any workshop when it’s time for an oil change or a refill. The annoying part of these jobs was to stow away the oil dripping funnel into a dark corner where you would find it a few months later contaminated inside-outside with dust, bugs and other debris. The PanAm funnel puts an end to this problem because it features screw-on caps at the top and bottom which can be removed for action and which keep the inside of your funnel perfectly clean during storage. The flexible spout makes it more versatile as it allows to direct the funnel tip in tight spots.

This rubberized aluminum alloy sheet allows you to form an individual funnel or trough to direct your waste oil from the hard-to-reach oil tank drain hole or oil filter plate to any suitable container. Of course, you can also use it to fill fresh oil into your tank. Tapered at one end so it can be shaped to reach tight spots. You can reshape and use it a thousand times and on different bikes. With suspension eye so you can hang it up for drip-off. Easy to clean.

Oil Filter Cartridges M16 Thread

4 speed Big Twins from 1982 on were equipped with oil filter cartridges that were screwed to a base plate behind the transmission. Sportsters 1980-early 1984 used the same filter, but the base plate sat over the transmission or on the front motor mount. Sportsters with alternator had the oil filter mounted in front of the front cylinders, just like the later models. The pore size of these filters suit the gear oil pump of the Big Twins and the gerotor pumps of the Sportsters.

All 5 and 6 speed Big Twins have these cartridges, as well as all Evolution Sportster models late 1984→ and Buells →2002. These filters have 6 or 10 µm pores. Dyna models with Evolution engine use 5.5” long cartridges as a standard. This provides some extra ounces of oil to these sporty bikes.

Bahco battery chargers and maintainers are fully automatic and micro-processor controlled. Being of the "connect and forget" - type means that you hook them up to your motorcycle battery in periods of non-use and you need not care about the device until you want to go for a ride. The device cannot be damaged by reversed polarity. It will automatically check the battery state and type and chose the appropriate charging program:
