Headlight inserts for auxiliary headlights all have 4-1/2" diameter and to align the glass in the housing, you can do without instructions. But did you order the correct headlight insert?

What is the difference between fog light inserts and spotlight inserts?

It´sin the glass. Inserts for fog and poor visibility have distinctive vertical grooves. The result is that the light is widely scattered to the right and left, but the light beam quickly weakens even at close range. Depending on the approval (ECE, DOT, SAE), the luminosity ends after about 50 meters. An insert for good long-distance vision is hardly corrugated or not corrugated at all. The lighting effect is based almost solely on the lamp and the reflector. The light is focused in the best possible way for good visibility ahead. Incidentally, if a headlight insert has been tested in accordance with ECE, it bears a B for bad weather use and an R for high beam/long range use.
