Risers

Handlebar brackets

In cases where the handlebars are not bolted directly to the front fork (clip-ons) or form part of the fork (classic Springer fork), risers are used to connect them to the triple tree. The risers also provide part of the vibration damping, in which case the mounting bolts go through rubber bushings in the triple clamp, or the risers themselves are multi-piece with rubber shims. Rubber-mounted risers, however, give the driver less feedback from the front wheel, even if they stress the hands less through vibration. Especially with beach bars or apehangers, it is therefore preferable to install the risers rigidly. Necessary parts can be found in the mounting parts section.

Riser exchange

Whether FLH or Harley Sportster, Softail, FXR or Dyna: In principle, no big deal: Cover the tank, remove the handlebar clamp(s), place the handlebars on the tank, remove the old risers, screw on the new ones and then screw on the other parts in reverse order. But stop: If the new risers deviate significantly in height ("rise") and / or pull back, usually new cables and wires are due. If you have time, rebuild first and then measure exactly which cables you need. If it should go fast, with the new risers simply trains to the selection along-order. Anything that is not needed is returned to W&W. Reimbursement follows promptly.
